MEET OUR FACULTY AND STAFF

Carol brings over 25 years of banking experience to Unity Christian Academy. She uses her expertise to support the administrative and financial operations of the school, ensuring smooth processes and excellent service for staff and families.

Ms. Schaefer serves as the K4 Preschool Lead Teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She completed BJU Teacher Training and brings three years of teaching experience to the classroom, two of which have been at UCA. Ms. Schaefer is passionate about cultivating a joyful and nurturing learning environment, with a special emphasis on teaching the virtue of gratitude to her students.

Taylor, a proud UCA alum, serves as Preschool Lead Teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She holds an Associates in General Education and brings two years of teaching experience, including two years at UCA. Taylor loves supporting young learners, fostering curiosity, and guiding students in both academic and spiritual growth.

Ms. Hutchins is a Preschool Teacher Assistant in the K4 classroom at Unity Christian Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies from Campbell University and has eight years of teaching experience. This is her first year at UCA, and she brings a heart for service and encouragement, especially enjoying opportunities to model and teach the virtue of generosity to young learners.

Kim Haselden brings eight years of experience at Unity Christian Academy to her role as Pre-K 3 Teaching Assistant, supporting early learners in building foundational skills and fostering Christ-centered character.

With 26 years of experience in education, Ms. Hardy brings a deep love for children and learning to our school community. She is Early Childhood Development certified through Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) and has spent 18 years serving at Haw Branch Preschool and Unity Christian Academy. Her years of experience, faith-filled approach, and commitment to nurturing young learners make her a treasured part of our team.​​

Robin Dana serves as a First Grade teacher and brings 32 years of teaching experience to the classroom. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from East Carolina University, a North Carolina Professional Educator License (K–6), and K–12 North Carolina Reading Certification. Now in her first year at Unity Christian Academy, Robin is passionate about building strong academic foundations and fostering a love for learning in young students.

Dawn Stokes serves as our 1st Grade teacher and brings 27 years of teaching experience to the classroom. She holds a 2-Year Teaching Degree and completed the BCS Journeymanship Program. Dawn has been part of the Unity Christian Academy family for 4 years, where she is passionate about building strong academic foundations while nurturing a love for learning in each child.

Audrey Ramirez serves as our Second Grade teacher and is grateful to invest in the lives of her students each day. She earned her Associate in General Education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse through Beaufort County Community College. With three years of teaching experience and four years at UCA, Audrey values creating a classroom environment where students feel cared for.

Lauren Guy brings four years of classroom experience to her role as 3rd Grade teacher. She holds a B.A. in Christian Elementary Education from Victory Baptist College and has served at Unity Christian Academy for three years, where she is dedicated to fostering strong academics within a Christ-centered environment.​

Rebecca “Becky” Spain serves as the Lead Teacher for Fourth Grade. She holds an Associate in Applied Science and is a Certified Community Health Worker, both from Beaufort County Community College. With three years of teaching experience at UCA Becky values creating a supportive, Christ-centered learning environment.

Kimberley Warrick serves as a Lower School TA and Upper School PE teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She earned a B.S. in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (Sports Management Concentration) from North Carolina State University and brings six years of educational experience. This is her first year teaching and coaching at UCA.

Elizabeth Waters serves as a Lower School Teacher Assistant and Music teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She earned an Associate in Health Science from Ivy Tech Community College and is in her second year of teaching at UCA.

Jessica Tew brings six years of experience in education and holds a North Carolina Early Educator Certification. She has been part of the Unity Christian Academy team for two years, where she values creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged, cared for, and ready to learn.

Angie Kolibabek serves as an Upper School English and Science teacher at Unity Christian Academy. With 16 years of dedicated service at UCA, Angie Kolibabek brings a wealth of experience and a passion for nurturing both the academic growth and character development of students.

Holly Webb teaches K–12 Art as well as Upper School Geography and Theology at Unity Christian Academy. She earned her degree from RHEMA Bible College and brings 18 years of teaching experience to the classroom. Now in her 10th year at UCA, she is passionate about nurturing creativity, curiosity, and faith in every student.

Robbin Briley teaches Upper School Math and Digital Learning Skills at Unity Christian Academy. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education (K–6), concentration in General Science, and a Minor in Geology, as well as a MaED in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. Licensed in K–6, Science 6–9, Math 6–9, and Instructional Technology, she brings 29 years of teaching experience, including three years at UCA.

Sam Loveall teaches 6th–12th Grade Theology at Unity Christian Academy. He earned a Master of Ministry with an emphasis in Worship Ministry from Hope International University and served as an Adjunct Professor at Mid-Atlantic Christian University. Teaching since 2005, he is now in his third year at UCA, where he is passionate about guiding students in their spiritual growth and understanding of Scripture

With 27 years of teaching experience, Gwen Jones serves as an Upper School Literature and Theology teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She holds a B.S. in English Education from East Carolina University and is licensed in Grades 9–12 English and Middle Grades ELA & Social Studies. In her three years at UCA, she seeks to cultivate both academic excellence and spiritual growth in her students.

Mandy Pichardo brings 10 years of teaching experience in Beaufort County Schools to her role as Upper School Literature teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She earned her Associates Equivalent from East Carolina University and has served at UCA for three years, where she is committed to fostering strong academic skills and a love for learning in her students.

Terry Spruill serves as an Upper School Math teacher at Unity Christian Academy. She earned her B.A. in 9–12 Math Education from North Carolina State University and M.A.E. in 9–12 Math from East Carolina University, and is a National Board Certified Teacher with AIG certification. With 33 years of teaching experience, she has spent the past 2.5 years at UCA.

With 31 years of teaching experience, Carrie Overby teaches Upper School Literature, Physical Science, and Culinary Arts, as well as Lower School PE at Unity Christian Academy. She earned her B.S. in Food Service/Hotel Management with a Minor in Business from North Carolina Wesleyan University and holds a North Carolina Professional Educator License (6–12). In her two years at UCA, she strives to cultivate both academic excellence and Christ-centered character in her students.

With 14 years of experience as a homeschool educator and community tutor, Meredith Massengill teaches Upper School Science and Lower School Latin at Unity Christian Academy. She earned a B.S. in Medical Technology from East Carolina University. In her first year at UCA, she is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and Christ-centered character in her students.

Jennifer Buchamer serves as Spanish Teacher and Office Assistant at Unity Christian Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Patriot University and completed EFL/ESL certification through ITTT Online, making her a Certified ESL Teacher. She has taught overseas in Argentina and Paraguay and has four years of teaching experience in the U.S., including two years at UCA, where she enjoys supporting students academically and fostering language learning.

Daniel, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, recently graduated from Kentucky Christian University, where he played soccer on scholarship and earned a degree in Youth Ministry. He brings energy, faith, and a heart for serving students to Unity Christian Academy.

Charlie Clark is in his first year at Unity Christian Academy and brings over 30 years of custodial experience from Beaufort County Schools. He faithfully works behind the scenes each day to keep our campus clean, safe, and beautiful for our students and staff.
