The use of Houses in schools dates back hundreds of years to when English boarding schools
sought ways to give students a family away from home. Today, Classical Christian schools
nationwide adopt the House System as a way to promote camaraderie, inspire competition, and
strengthen culture. At Unity Christian Academy, we invite you to be a part of this rich tradition as
we implement the House System, fostering a sense of family and unity among our students!
House of Truth
The House symbol is the majestic Griffin, a mythical creature renowned for guarding precious possessions. The Griffin stands proudly, symbolizing the spirit of House Veritas – the commitment to seeking and standing for the Truth.
Motto | Veritate Sequamur, Virtutem Invenimus
House Scripture | John 14:6, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
House of Compassion
The House symbol is a noble Dragon, a gentle giant harnessing its strength through benevolence. The Dragon represents the ethos of House Caritas – the power of loving kindness through dedicated acts of service.
Motto | Amor in actione, vis in benignitate
House Scripture | 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love."
House of Courage
The House symbol is a striking Phoenix, a mythical bird that undergoes regeneration despite defeat. The Phoenix's rebirth from the ashes signifies the spirit of House Fortitudo – the courage that enables us to rise up and overcome challenges.
House of Faithfulness
The House symbol is the magnificent Pegasus, a winged horse symbolizing loyalty. With wings outstretched, the Pegasus evokes a sense of constancy and nobility, reminding us of the essence of House Fidelis – the unwavering faith which carries us through adversity.
